This past Saturday John and I were able to go out for breakfast again. We usually do this every Saturday, but hadn’t been able to for the last two weekends because of other things happening.
Going out for breakfast is one of my favourite things to do, and I have to say that I really missed it. After a busy work week it’s nice to get out and just spend some quality time together.
And it doesn’t hurt that we usually go to the local flea market afterwards. 🙂
And it also doesn’t hurt that the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and the Salvation Army thrift store are at the same location as the flea market. 🙂 🙂 🙂
I was so excited when I found this six piece Homan Plate tea/coffee set at the flea market. It’s nickel plated and has a lovely hammered finish.
I swear it was calling to me from the other end of the room (T-u-u-u-u-l-a… T-u-u-u-u-l-a) because I was drawn over to that corner… like a moth to a flame. And then I saw it and I felt warm all over… but touching it didn’t hurt a bit. 🙂
Here’s a close up of the finish. Isn’t it fun?
It didn’t take me long to realize that these pieces were not just wind chime wannabes, but definitely wind chime gottabes. 🙂
Now I do have to say that I pretty much see wind chimes in practically everything, but I don’t make everything into wind chimes.
Even though it might not look like it I do exercise some restraint at times. A teensy weensy bit anyway. lol.
I see two wind chimes here. Love these pieces! I can’t wait to match them with some vintage necklaces from my necklace window valance.
I assume the taller one is a coffee pot and the shorter one is a teapot… or maybe both are teapots… or maybe both are coffee pots. lol.
It doesn’t really matter… they’re both fabulous!
And I see three wind chimes here… the covered sugar bowl, the creamer, and whatever that open bowl is. These will be fun to work with too.
What is that open bowl anyway? Another sugar bowl?
And even though this silver plate tray could make an amazing chalkboard wind/door chime it’s not going to be because it’s far too large… and heavy.
See… I can exercise some restraint. lol.
But it will make a fabulous silver tray chalkboard. I think writing might look pretty cool on that hammered finish.
That’s it for finds for this week. I’m being pretty picky about what I bring home these days, but it’s just as well. These wind chime gottabes are still calling to me… (T-u-u-u-u-l-a, T-u-u-u-u-l-a)… and I’m answering by getting busy fulfilling their wind chime destinies.
Thanks so much for reading and until next time… keep on keepin’ on.
