While wandering around the back yard this past weekend I realized that I never shared one of my favourite finds ever!!!
And I’m not exaggerating.
I absolutely love it, and now I’m pondering exactly how I’m going to use it.
And it cost me the whopping amount of one whole dollar.
What is it? Well you’ll have to wait a bit to find out.
First here are some pics of what we were doing in between my wandering and pondering.
Miss Pixie decided to inspect the waterfall rock to make sure it made it through the winter OK…
because it looked like this. I can’t even begin to explain how happy I am that the white stuff is gone.
And Monkey decided to go inspect what Miss Pixie was doing.
“Oh.. I think I’ll just lie here and have a little cat nap.”
Ta da! Check out my ever so stylish waders.
They’re all the rage here in the boonies.
And no… I didn’t go to Harvard. Well, that’s not entirely true… I did go to Harvard, but on our honeymoon trip to Boston. Loved it… but I digress.
Miss Pixie is a very easily distracted assistant.
John adds the ‘piece de resistance’ to the waterfall.
What is it?
Why… it’s the Eiffel Tower of course… straight from Paris. One of my favourite all-time finds… even if it is sold in every tourist shop in France.
No matter… we bought it when we were there so it has special memories.
Getting the pond going marks the beginning of gardening season for us. As you can see we haven’t done much else yet. The pond needs a good clean up and clean out, as do the gardens.
It’s taking us a little while to come out of our hibernation from the brutal winter we had.
But we’ll get there. Right now we’re just enjoying whatever warmth we have.
And now onto another fabulous and favourite find.
I found this vintage porcelain sink last fall at a garage sale, and I left it in the garden all winter… under more than 3 feet of snow.
It was filthy so I washed it out.
I think it’s a real beauty! It’s a lovely soft green. I might not want it in my bathroom but I soooo want it in my garden… and it only cost me a dollar.
So… will I plant it up with some pretty flowers, or use it as a sink in a yet-to-be-built potting bench? I have no idea, but I can’t wait to find out.
Thanks so much for reading!
Have a fabulous day!
