It’s so easy to make tired watering cans look nicer. Just because they’re practical doesn’t mean they can’t be dressed up a bit. I’m a girl who loves to get her hands dirty in the gardens, but I also like things to be pretty. These two watering cans were a little worn but that’s OK…they just needed a little makeover.
I recently rediscovered decoupage and thanks to The Graphics Fairy I was able to print out some lovely rose images for this project. It’s an amazing blog with so many fabulous graphics.
I liked the colour of the green one so I left it. It still had the residue of the old label from when I bought it a few years ago. I just put the new image right on top.
This little watering can was a little more worn and I didn’t like this yellow.
So that’s it. It was really very easy. You just have to be careful not to fool with the images on the cans too much while the first coat is drying.
And I started another project today that I’m really excited about.
It’s this table that I got at the Re-Store for FREE. Yes… that’s right. For FREE. When I saw it in the free corner I had to take it. I couldn’t resist. Its makeover is about three-quarters done, so I’ll be revealing it later this week. I can’t wait! Stay tuned.
