I pop into my local thrift store most days during my lunch hour (I work in town 3 days a week.) The volunteers there are so great at constantly putting out new things and I never know what I’m going to find. Prices are always fabulous and I never haggle because the store is a fundraiser for the local cancer society. What a great thing! I get to indulge my love of thrift shopping, save money, and support a great cause at the same time. When it comes to thrifting it doesn’t get much better than that!
On the weekends we sometimes go to auctions, flea markets, and garage sales depending on what else we have going on. I also love to window shop at our local dump (I check out the piles as we drive by them to see if there’s anything worth picking out). I’m always amazed at some of the things that people take to the dump. And they have to pay to do that. Don’t they know there are Goodwill, Salvation Army, and a lot of other second hand stores that would take this great stuff? For free!
Here are some of my recent finds that are waiting for makeovers and the prices I paid for them.
This wooden tray cost me $2 at the thrift store.
This embossed brass container cost $1.
I found this lamp at the $1. thrift store lamp sale that they have every once in a while.
