What I really want is a white tree that I can decorate in pinks and greens and silvers, but I didn’t thrift one this year so I’ll be on the lookout for next year.
So in the master bedroom I’m using a 5′ artificial green tree that we got at a garage sale eons ago. I read and watch TV in the bedroom quite often so I love that it has some Christmas decor.
Last year we were so busy that all we did was put up our memory tree in the family room and that was it. This year I’ve been decorating at my own pace, just taking it slow, and I’m really enjoying it.
Before I show you this tree I thought I’d share what I found for it this season. I lucked out and found the Father Christmas in the photo above for $1 just last week. Before that I wasn’t sure what I was going to use as the tree topper.
These sweet resin ballerina ornaments were just 50 cents for the pair. I’m pretty sure they’re vintage. They have small ring hangers in their hands, which hold a pink flower.
These two little handmade plastic canvas birdhouses are nice and bright. They were 25 cents each.
These four plastic ornaments have a lovely vintage look. They were in a bag with other ornaments for only 50 cents.
This set that I found for $1 has a nice shabby chic look. The Santas are ceramic.
I strung some pink and fuschia bead garland on the tree, added some white lights and glass ornaments in pinks, greens, and silvers… and she’s done.
Everything on this tree was thrifted, and I’d be surprised if the total for everything was more than $10… including the tree. I hope to have a large white tree next year. I have a lot of ornaments that didn’t make it on this sweet little tree.
Here’s that sweet beaded doll ornament that Pam from Virginia Retro sent me in the ornament exchange.
To cover up the tree stand I simply used a silky green scarf that has some lovely crochet details.
My doll that I’ve had since I was four sits with the bear that has kept her company since 1991 when John sent me a Teddy Bear gram for my 30th birthday. I have no idea how long I’ve had Rudolph but it’s been a long time.
The tall Father Christmas was gift a few years ago, and in front of him is my book angel.
If you read my post last Monday you saw how Santa wouldn’t look at me when he went by in the village parade. I was sure I was in his bad books.
But I’m very happy to say that we’re friends again, and I am off the naughty list. Yay!!
Thanks so much for reading and until next time…. Think Pink!
