On the bottom it’s marked Germany Bavaria, 18 K. It’s about half the size of a regular teacup.
The photos don’t really do it justice. It’s really quite beautiful, and because it was a single piece it was a very good price.
One day I might be lucky enough to a find a matching saucer, but until then I wanted to have it out somehow so I could enjoy it.
So, I thought why not put it on the tree this year?
I went through my jewelry stash and found this vintage faux pearl gold toned bracelet and simply attached it to the teacup handle with the clasp.
Then I added a simple eyelet bow, and my teacup ornament was done.
Reminds me of those wonderful old indented ornaments that I love so much, and I didn’t have to alter the teacup in any way. It’s still in its original condition.
Take a look at your own collections and you might be surprised to find something that you love that could easily be transformed into an ornament for the season.
If you love it, hang it up. Why not?
