“Go placidly amid the nose and haste,
This is the beginning of Desiderata. I’ve had this small poster for over 25 years and it’s always been up somewhere in whatever room was acting as my office/craft room. For the last few years it’s been pinned to a small bulletin board in my craft room. When I did my craft room makeover I decided I wanted to display it in a new way.
I laid my poster upside down on the placemat and taped it down on all 4 sides using clear packing tape. Because the tape is clear you don’t even notice that it’s there.
Then I went into my stash and found some handmade paper that I’ve had for years. I don’t even know where I originally got it because it’s been so long, but it was just right for the look I was going for.
I simply cut out some strips, laid them down on top of the back of the poster to hide the gaps, and taped them down using the clear packing tape.
I attached it to the wall with this blue plastercine-like stuff that I got at Home Hardware years ago and I’ve kept in a ziplok bag. I can’t even remember what it’s called, but it’s great stuff to use instead of tape and it looks so much nicer than pins because you don’t see it.
And that’s it. Here it is hanging in my craft room.
If you’re not familiar with Desiderata you can find it all over the internet. It’s very inspirational and I read it often. I can probably recite it from memory by now.
Be nice to yourself and have a happy day!
