Hi there! I hope everyone had a great weekend! The weather was beautiful here, much cooler for a change, and we really enjoyed it. It’s so nice to be able to sit outside without melting.
So… here’s my latest project, which is for the birds (lol). It’s a DIY birdbath made from a lamp. I really love the orange. It’s so vibrant and fun!
I got the lamp at my local thrift store’s $1 lamp sale. They have this sale every once in awhile to get rid of their lamp inventory so they can make room for new things. I came home with four lamps that day, all destined to be either a birdbath or a birdfeeder..
Here’s what it looked like before.
I removed all the wiring and the electrical parts, gave it a good cleaning, and then primed the base with Tremclad Spray Primer. Then I sprayed it with this amazing pumpkin orange Krylon spray paint.
I balanced the glass coaster on the top and adhered it with the Marine GOOP glue. I left it to dry until the next day so I could be sure that the coaster was securely attached before I glued the glass bowl on top of the coaster.
Here’s my birdbath all finished.
I love the thrifted $2 bowl.
Here’s my birdbath in the garden. I placed a removable mini candy dish into the bowl so my feathered friends could sit there and rest while they drink. Sweet!
What do you think? How do you welcome birds into your garden?
